hello! i've had diarrhea for a ... about 1 - 2 weeks now??? i haven't eaten in 3 - 4 days - it still hasn't gone away ? i'm starting to get worried!

Time to see a doctor: Any stomach flu type of illness can have some nausea, bloating, vomiting, diarrhea, tummy pain, tummy cramps, fever, chills, sweating, dizziness, etc...  One person can have some or all of these symptoms. If symptoms are mild, they might go away in a day or two. Sometimes they can be severe or last a whole week, so a doctor's follow-up is helpful. It is time to see one's primary care doctor.

Unusual: Probably coincidental.  But toothache is an infection that required immediate treatment.  Don't wait, go now.

: Keep isolated. Stay in one room and don't leave unless you need to go to see a doctor in person. USe telemedicine to speak to a doctor . Get tested for COVID 19. There are other reasons for diarrhea, but it is prudent to be concerned for COVID 19 at this time

Heat stress: You're describing "heat stress", the early symptoms of heat-related illness  Unchecked, heat stress can lead to heat exhaustion, heat stroke and even death.  Heat stress is caused by a combination of high temperature &amp; humidity, physical activity, certain Rx's, dehydration and impediments to dispersing heat such as heavy clothing &amp; sports gear or excess body weight.  Don't ignore these symptoms!

i use a lot of garlic salt on my food every day and get diarrhea about 1-2 times per month. could garlic be causing it? would onion powder be safer?

Maybe: It sounds more like you have irritable bowel syndrome and that is often set off by nerves, life problems, lack of sleep and stress.  It would not hurt to stop the garlic salt for a month and see if it disappears.  See your doctor to discuss this in more detail.

If not improving: If your symptoms have lasted longer than three days that I would probably go get checked out. You may have a bacterial infection.

IBS: This is most likely an irritable bowel syndrome. Can you relate the symptoms to specific foods? Taking an antispasmodic medication like bentyl (dicyclomine) 1/2 hour before meals often prevents the gastrocolic reflex from being overactive and thus makes postprandial diarrhea less likely. A gastroenterologist is best qualified to diagnose and treat this problem.
