Possibilities...: If the pain is present only when you cough, deep breathe, move around, etc. And not  all the time, then it is most likely musculoskeletal pain. The most likely diagnoses are muscle strain, cartilage inflammation or rib fracture. These will all resolve once the cough goes away gradually over days to weeks. If the pain worsens, or is present all the time, see your doctor.

Musculoskeletal...: The discomfort you are experiencing is likely musculoskeletal in nature. There are muscles, cartilage, bones, etc that make up your chest wall. These structures can become strained/inflamed with continued coughing. You need to have this cough diagnosed and treated by your doctor. Possible etiologies for this cough include bronchospasm from any cause, gerd, post-nasal drip or combination of these.

Yes: See your primary care physician to determine if treatment requires antibiotic regimen.    They may do  a chest x ray.  I you are having shortness of breath or fever to the point you it's slowing you from normal function levels would recommend you go to urgent care to speed up treatment. You want to avoid a full bronchitis or pneumonia.  In all this breathing treatments are available. Take care.

Chest pain: The cause for cough should be identified and treated. Repeated bouts of cough could cause chest pain. You need a physician visit to get physical and diagnostic tests.

without knowing your past medical history and other specifics about your chronic cough, this question is difficult to answer. The 3 most common causes of chronic cough (which are usually asked on board exams) are: asthma, post-nasal drip and gastroesophageal reflux disease (gerd). This being said, there are many other factors that can cause a cough and as mentioned before, it is difficult to pinpoint (i don't know if you have seasonal allergies, anxiety, are a smoker or your family history).  The best bet would be to go to an urgent care who will have physicians available to take your history, physical exam and possible lab work in order to determine what the next step is.
