? OAB or irritants: It can be concentrated urine or bladder irritants like caffeine or spicy food. Cranberry can even do it. Only drink water for a few days and limit spicy food and see what happens. You may also just have overactive bladder (OAB). Try the above and if not better see a urologist.

Q: can having the urge to urinate every hour without drinking fluids be due to overactive bladder? my tests are all negative?. is this permanant / temporary?

Cystoscope: of the bladder could reveal interstitial cystitis as a possible source.

May be/ may be not: UTI needs to be ruled out. Do you drink lots of water towards the later part of the day? Try to limit water intake 3 hours before Bed time, High Blood sugar and High Calcium level scan cause frequent urination but not limited to night time. If continues get examined.

Q: is voiding(urinating) every hour or every two hour normal. i have to go that much. and is there a pill to take to get it under control?

Excess urination: You have to have a urine analysis to see if it could give you a clue to your frequent urination (F). If you have glucose in your urine sample, you have diabetes which requires control to stop the glucose from being there. If your F comes from drinking a lot of water, the specific gravity of your urine will be low. Blood work is also needed to arrive at a diagnosis. Go to an ER ASAP and good luck.

Polyuria: Age & gender would help provide better answer. May be overactive bladder in male/ female; enlarged prostate in men; UTI or interstitial cystitis in women; may be symptom of diabetes in either. Might be effect of too much caffeine. Frequent urination : Can be diabetes (mellitus or insipidus)   enlarged prostate,  prostatitis,  urinary tract infection, overactive bladder. Please see a primary care doctor.

Usually not: My first question is- can the child sleep all night without wetting or getting up multiple times? If he can sleep all night, it is unlikely that there is an anatomical problem. Some children go through a stage where they are very aware of their bladder and want to be sure to use every bathroom they see! If the amount of urine is small, that may be the cause. See his doctor to check it out.

Check sugar, urine: Urine frequency may be a sign of diabetes. I would recommend getting seen soon.  Initial tests may include:  ua (urine analysis) and a fasting blood sugar (should be <100). Another possibility (more rare) is diabetes insipidus.  Hope you are better soon!
