Ringworm: If the ringworm is on your scalp, you will need a doctor's prescription for an oral antifungal medication to cure it. If it is located anywhere else on the skin, swome otc meds may help. Otherwist, your doctor can give you a prescription for it.

Yes: No problem swimming if you have ringworm although most public facilities frown on anyone swimming with an open lesion.

Can cause.: But good hand hygeine, proper paring of the nails so that the fungal spores /hyphae underneath the nails don't get spread to other areas.Proper hand hygeine, especially after touching the affected area , and avoiding scratching of the infected areas with pens/pencils as we can transmit infections to other places by using the same pen/pencil without properly cleaning them(fomites-sources of infection.

Ringworm: Symptoms of ringworm include scaly, red patches of skin that itches and may blister.  It may be a red circle with a center of normal skin (which is why it looks like a ring). 
If you have ringworm, it needs to be treated.

my dr told me i have ringworm. she gave me meds and ointment. my biggest concern is my 2 kids. how do i go about cleaning?

Wash hands: Ring worm is not that contagious. Wash your hands after touching the are with ring worm and do not worry about your kids getting it. Ringworm spores are in the air.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex.

i have ringworm and i am taking sopranox, how long before it starts to clear up? what will it start to look like when it heals? can it still spread?

Complete eradication: Various tenea sp of fungus cause 'ringworm'  ring like appearance due to central healing and peripheral spreading is difficult to eradicate with out rx strength medication, you may be spreading from one spot to other, or still getting transmitted from same person , same pet , same dirt.  You have to see a dermatologist for complete eradication and cure and prevent the source.

Maybe ringworm: A round scaly sore on the skin can be ringworm, which is caused by a fungus, and the rash is called tinea corporis. Eczema rashes and psoriasis rashes can also cause a round scaly sore and look like ringworm. A primary care doctor or dermatologist (skin doctor) can evaluate to make a diagnosis, and then give details on the treatment of one's particular diagnosis.
