Worrisome: You don't mention age or any other symptoms, but the fact of the matter is that this is not normal and should not have gone on this long without an evaluation with  ct scan and or colonoscopy. See a specialist and hopefully you have not waited too long to do so.

See your Doctor: Question is vague.  Any change in stool caliber? Any weight loss?  You need to have blood work and probably a colonscopy and ct scan thorax.  Do you or have you ever smoked?  Do you have cough? Of course, these symptoms may be nothing but without knowing you, and you seem concerned, i would advise going to your pcp for evaluatin.  Do not worry, but seek help.

Exam needed: These are serious symptoms and require urgent evaluation in the hospital emergency room. There is the possibility that hemorrhaging can become massive. If you have hemorrhagic gastritis, black bowel movements would result. Vomiting and defecating red blood would indicate simultaneous bleeding from both upper and lower gi tracts which is most unusual. Go to the hospital emergency room now for exam

Ulcers: Bright red blood in the stool is from hemorrhoids. Black stool is digested blood from stomach ulcers. These can be treated with Prilosec and suppositories. Get tested for h.Pylori. You're not too far gone to recover, but this is going to take some work. Hopefully, your fp can discover the cause of your bleeding (alcohol?), diagnose and treat properly, so that you can get to feeling better soon!

No: No, a back injury and/or rib fracture should not cause change in stool color.  It usually has to be from something within the gi tract; bleeding into the gi tract from a gastric ulcer being just one example.  Don't hesitate to be seen for it.

: There are many other causes for a mildly elevated lipase other than pancreatitis. In your case, the reason for the bleeding, such as bowel inflammation, among others may be causing the elevated lipase. Your gastroenterologist remains your best reference in trying to sort it out.

Not True: Most ulcers are caused by an infection with h. Pylori. Any physician who hears your history and does not test you for h. Pylori needs to be fired.
