: This was not a trivial viral intestinal tract infection which lasts a week. You'll have to have a stool culture to check for bacterial pathogens, parasites &amp; ova( eggs). If negative you could have irritable bowel syndrome or inflammatory bowel disease. Consult a gastroenterologist. In the meantime follow a soft,bland diet and,if possible, obtain a prescription for an antispasmodic like dicyclomine

R/O GASTROENTERITIS : Acute onset of symptoms is most consistent with gastroenteritis.  You need to rest , fast for 8-12 hrs then clear liquids as tolerated. You need full exam and lab screen&amp;stool culture  to rule out infection. Normally cipro (ciprofloxacin) is prescribed empirically  If symptoms persist abdominal US or CT to rule out appendicitis. If it is vital it will resolve in 24-72 hrs. If fever or pain worsens seek ER eval.

Loose stool: Consider evaluation for  food intolerances gluten, milk soy,( can avoid these food for a week and see what happens)  or pancreatic insufficiency ( do you get frequent bronchitis - may be a form of cystic fibrosis)  or H pylori gastritis which ca nbe diagnosed via blood test of breath test. Would also check thyroid  f/u /w/ doc

20 YEARS OLD TIRED: You are only twenty and feel tired.First of all you need to have a good night sleep for at least 7 hours of deep sleep.The other causes of fatigue at your age are many and you need a complete physical exam, blood test and it can be from anemia to anything else.If all the test come back noemal then your fatige may be chronic fatigue syndrome and needs to be treated as such.So see your md, good luck.

: You must be examined&amp;tested in the ER at this time. Dehydration &amp; electrolyte imbalance are quite likely not to mention possible  kidney failure. Nausea,vomiting&amp;diarrhea are most often caused by viral gastroenteritis or food poisoning, but after a week,stool cultures are a must. Careful exam of your abdomen is needed to check for other more serious causes of abdominal pains.

husband has ulcerative colitis. labs & colonoscopy rule out flare. c.diff infection! flagyl day 5, diarrhea lessening but pain & fatigue still bad. when should he see improvement? dr. appt in 2 days.

Soon: Good there no Flare up of Ulcerative Colitis.  Also glad to hear that C. Diff. toxin induced Diarrhea is improving. Make sure he is taking electrolyte water to replenish potassium. Everyday will be some improvement. Please follow up with your doctor. He will need another stool sample to check on eradication of C.Diff .infection

my boyfriend fingered me on 4/18 i cant remember if his fingers were dry from his cum now two weeks later i have diarrhea and acid reflex whats wrong ?

No risk of infection: STDs are not transmitted by fingering. This was no risk for any infection, and also no risk for pregnancy (if the semen on his fingers was indeed dry). Your diarrhea and acid reflux symptoms have nothing to do with that event. See your doctor if your symptoms continue or you remain concerned.
