i have had bad pains in my stomach when i lay flat on my belly or on my left side. why is that?

Doctor to evaluate: If one has some uncomfortable tummy pain, and is normally in good health, plus is not pregnant, the possibilities include: appendicitis (usually lower r tummy), diverticulitis (usually l tummy), kidney stone (very painful), constipation (crampy on l), tumors, intestinal infections, etc...  A person with more than brief, mild pain needs a doctor's evaluation to be sure it is not something serious.

Abdominal pain: Try both sides and lie on whichever feels better.  If it keeps up go and see your family doctor and find out why you are hurting.

: Hard to know. The symptoms are vague &amp; cause could range from gas to ulcer to constipation. Such issues are best assessed with a history/physical and testing if needed. No determination of how simple or bad it can be without more information.

Esophagitis : You did mention in your history that you have acid reflux. There is a muscular valve in between the bottom of your esophagus and your stomach. If the valve is mechanically weak then stomach acid will leak into the esophagus when lying down because the effect of gravity is partially cancelled when flat (vs vertical:standing upright). Try putting 1-2" block under each headboard side of bed; may help

I do not know: Tough to say without an exam.  It could be a stomach virus, ulcer, muscle strain, constipation, referred pain from gall stones or gall bladder disease, etc, etc., so best to get evaluated if it continues.  Good luck.

Left sided abd. pain: Causes of recurrent abdominal discomfort as described may be identified by first addressing signs/symptoms so as to localize the organ involved: vaginal discharge or bleeding, alteration in periods, pregnancy risk? Fever, nausea, vomiting, altered stool pattern, blood with stool, tenderness, distension? Painful urination, blood in urine? Recent trauma, herniations? Age? Gender? Other risk factors?

Possibly: Too much fiber can lead to abdominal bloating and discomfort - so decrease the dose and see if the ache resolves.

i have constipation. but, everytime i constipate and the poo doesnt come out, i will have stomach ache on the lower left side. ?

Accepted Answer

Abdominal cramping.: pain in the left lower side of the abdomen when straining to pass a stool is not unusual. You're probably experiencing spasm of the colon as you are trying to evacuate the stool. If this is the case, the cramping pain should go away after you have passed the stool. Notify your doctor if the pain persists or if you pass any blood. A high fiber diet may help the constipation. does a stomach ache and dizzy necessary mean i have covid? can it be other things? it is not a spinning dizzy its a side to side thing and not that bad on a scale of 1-10 its maybe a 2.5-3 stomach ache the same?

No: Could be a number of things beside Covid but best to be tested and know. Quarantine till then and if negative may want to contact ENT for evaluation for vertigo especially if symptoms get worse. Get plenty of rest and liquids either way and contact physician if positive as well.

From the intestine?:  Since  you are feeling different places in the abdomen maybe coming for intestine. It could be something like gas but also could be some type of irritation of the intestine. We need to discuss with your physician and consider seeing a gastroenterologist
