i am experiencing  abnormal vaginal discharge (quality: mucus and blood, cheesy discharge) (worsened by: onset after unprotected sex) , vaginal odor and low back pain. the following also describes me: vaginal irritation. what should i do?

Vaginitis: I urge you to get evaluation from your Gyn who can also  test for STI and give you treatment before the infection progresses to full blown pelvic infection.  I urge you to consider safe sex in the future.

Discuss with MD: You need an evaluation, you may have pelvic inflammation from any number of reasons, you will need a good pelvic exam and some lab studies.  If you have been sexually active, at any time, the concern and urgency is increased. 
Please get an evaluation.

Bacterial vaginosis: The most common vaginal infection is bacterial vaginosis which occurs when the normal good bacteria in the vagina, peroxidase positive lactobaccillus, are killed off (many things can do this including douching). The most common symptom is a vaginal odor which worsens with intercourse. It would not be tested for when in your annual exam and is not considered an STD.

i have my wife pregnant she its 36 weeks 4 days- she has a very bad low back pain and has well in her vagina. what should be. recommended for this?

Pregnancy Discomfort: It is common for women to get low back pain near the end of pregnancy. She can wear a maternity binder, sit with feet elevated and pillow behind back, wear supportive shoes, and get a massage. Some women do have back labor. If pain becomes cyclic and predictable, she should consult her doctor.

Periods can vary.: Dysmenorrhea Tx:  NSAID’s, SSRI’s, hormone meds, OTC meds containing diuretics, warm bath, heating pad, exercise &amp; acupuncture are excellent for dysmenorrhea. Avoid caffeine, chocolate, alcohol &amp; salt.

: See your GYN physician for a exam and further testing. "Bad odors" are caused usually by infections, "lost" tampons.

Wait for GYN visit: It is very difficult to diagnose a vaginal infection when a patient has altered the environment with douches, or other feminine deodorant products. See if you can see your GYN MD at an earlier date.
