Not related.: Having your tubes tied or burned does not have any effect on your menstrual cycle.  The brown spotting most likely is a little bit of leftover blood from your most recent period.  If you have this in the future, you should contact your gynecologist.

Irregular periods: Irregular periods can occur and can be normal. Best to monitor your cycle over the next 2-3 months. If it continues to be irregular, seek medical attention. If concerned for pregnancy, take an over the counter test. Also, consider alternate birth control method such as spermicides, birth control pills, etc.

Occasionally happens: Any recent increase stress or illness? At your age, occasional irregularity like this happens .  However, if it persists for 2 more months, then maybe an ultrasound and some blood work would be a good idea.

Kinda: Although irregular menses are not 'normal' they do occur frequently in very young women... and are quite benign.  Act on it if it becomes frequent, heavy or otherwise interferes with your life. Your doctor can give you medication to get rid of the bleeding for a while but right now, just observe.

Progesterone pill: The "mini-pill," is a contraceptive that contains only progesterone, no estrogen.  Spotting is very common on progesterone-only pills, almost universal.  This chance is reduced by taking it at exactly the same time each day, and spotting usually decreases after 3-6 months of therapy but sometimes persists.  Some women stop having periods entirely after 6-12 months of continuous therapy.

Pregnancy: If you had a normal period two weeks ago then the light brownish blood is not likely to be due to pregnancy. If your next period is late - would take a pregnancy test. Take care.

Not always cysts: Depends on whether you are on birth control or not.  It is common to have "breakthrough bleeding" on some birth control pills.  Simply taking a "stronger" pill often is all one needs.  Cysts are common and most people don't have cyclic regular spotting despite having cysts.  Without doing an ultrasound i would not assume that cysts are present or are anything more than an incidental finding.

Cervicitis: An irritated or infected cervix may be the problem.
