Lets say it : Is possible. Visit your surgeon, ask them if everything is okay and what the plan of action is. Perhaps some physical therapy might be a good idea.

Recovery time: I would expect that there would be pain and swelling some months after such a procedure.  The reattachment requires internal fixation of the tendon in the heel bone.  The bone removal in itself causes swelling.  Physical therapy after surgery seems to speed recovery.

: If you have a good spine orthopedist you will be almost pain free after the surgery.

No: No, but the presence of bone spurs does not mean you have to have surgery.  Sometimes the symptoms can be well managed no operatively and surgery avoided.

Last resort: Is surgery.  See your family doctor, podiatrist, foot and ankle surgeon.  "cortisone" injection can provide some relief.  Learn how to prevent it from getting worse.  Specific exercises can help.  Extracorporeal  shock wave therapy may be tried.

Need help docs: It is very rare for 15 Y.O. To have spurs, or to have pain all the time; are the spurs on the bottom or the back of the heels?Is she very over-weight? See a podiatrist if feet are involved  or an orthopedist to figure out the best treatment.

i have bone spurs in my shoulders. a friend advised magnetic therapy. would you agree this is an option before surgery?

Options: I am sorry but I don't have expertise in magnetic therapy - so I can't say.  However, acupuncture can be very beneficial in reducing pain &amp; inflammation and improving range of motion. Acupuncture would not change the bone spurs or other arthritic bony changes in your shoulders.

i had shoulder surgery done a little over a month ago, this was to scrape bone spurs and clean out the bursa. how long until i fully recover?

6-8 weeks: Structurally, there is only mild weakening of the deltoid insertion where the bone is removed. Rotator cuff, if not repaired should be ready to rehab right away.
I encourage my patients to start range of motion exercises as soon as the pain subsides (couple of days). I let them do whatever they are comfortable with after a couple of weeks. It generally takes 6-8 weeks for all the tenderness to end.
