Moist heat: There is not much more you can do than heat. Also use a triple antibiotic cream. Topical tincture of iodine will help both the cyst and the infection.

i have noticed that my hair on my head is slowly falling out, and my facial hair and arm hair hasnt grown in weeks. head is also quite itchy and was told dermatitis. under extreme stress before this, what is causing this?

Dermatologist: A dermatologist can tell by examining you whether your hair loss is apt to be temporary or permanent. At the same time appropriate tests will be ordered to look for medical problems which cause hair loss, such as thyroid disorders. The scalp dermatitis will also be evaluated and treated.

Hair loss: Hair loss, or alopecia, is an autoimmune process which affects more women than men.  It is sometimes associated with hypothyroidism.  While sudden severe weight loss could trigger hair loss (telogen effluvium), it is unlikely that a healthy weight loss regimen would cause this.  Hair loss is distressing but often resolves itself.  A dermatologist can offer treatment.

Wait two weeks: Your description is limited but your concern tells the story.  If this has not disappeared or is not obviously healing up after two weeks (which may be already), a physician should look at it on the possibility that it is a tumor that needs to come off.

Don't shave: Take a break from shaving over that area. You may be able to use a tweezers to remove the hair. You can try switching to an electric shaver which is far less likely to cause an ingrown hair.

Hair growth: First, see your physician to get some simple blood tests to look for a treatable problem, such as thyroid dysfunction.  In the meantime you can try over-the-counter biotin for growth of nails and hair.
