24 hours ago i cut my hand on a weight rack at the gym. i washed it and applied neosporin (gyms have lots of bugs i think); now it's red and painful.  should i see a doc or give it another day?

See a Doc: You may be getting infection which can rapidly spread in the hand.  See a physician at the earliest.

Cannot tell immediat: Local tissue swelling will make you feel numb so it is tough to judge regarding nerve injury. Once the swelling subsides if there is weakness then it might be nerve injury. The one product i like for toes and fingers is called polymem toes and fingers you can just plug this on the area and the dressing itself cleans, takes away pain and heals, dressing can be left in place for 7 days.

i cut my hand 2 years ago and didn't clean the wound well. now its forming into a lump i believe its dry blood or hypertrophic scars. how do i get rid?

This is an odd thing: To happen after two years. You should see a surgeon certified by the american board of plastic surgery for an examination to determine exactly what this is.

See a hand surgeon!: A hand surgeon will examine you and perform some tests to make sure that your tendon was not damaged. Sometimes, with partial tendon injuries, you can still bend your fingers. However, if you don't treat it properly, they can tear completely and you will lose finger motion.

Clarify please: The depth of the cut will dictate the type of repair needed for the wound. However, you should see a doctor asap as you may need your tetanus booster.

It is still possible: Stop bleeding by applying pressure. Rinse wound w clean water. Clean surrounding skin w soap &amp; water on wash cloth. Apply antibiotic ointment. Initially cover w bandage until some healing has occurred. Change bandage when soiled/ wet or at least daily. Need tetanus shot if you haven't had one in last 10 years, don't know when you last had one.

okay so i cut my hand accidentally and its a small cut but kind of open and idk if i need stitches or not?

It depends: This is hard to know without seeing it and depends in part on what part of your hand the cut is as if it is in an area that moves a lot it's more likely to need stitches. You want to make sure the edges of the cut come together and you may be able to do that with Steri-strips, available at most pharmacies. If those don't keep it together get stitches, but need to do within 24 hours of the cut.

i touched rust i did not cut my hand or scratch however had to get rust off hand and have no shot should i worry?
