i always have flaky things coming out of my ears. what is it?

Skin and wax: You may have some eczema of the ear canal. The ear canal is lined with the same lining as the rest of your body... Any skin condition that can affect your skin, can affect the lining to your ear. Try some moisturizing cream just inside the ear canal. Do not use q-tips... Apply with your finger tip.

the inside of my ears are always itchy. i use qtips to scratch it but there's no wax or dirt. i also notice that the skin is flaky. what's causing it?

It may be...: IT sounds like you could be having seborrheic dermatitis, although we need some more information and a direct exam for a final diagnosis. This could also be a fungal infection so that's why the importance of getting seen.

the skin inside one of my ears is very dry and flaky and there is a very small amount of moisture that builds up in that ear all the time. i have to use a q-tip to wipe it out of the canal but it builds right back up.?

DRY EAR SKIN?: Simple moisturizers may help but the constant wetness needs evaluated in order to eradicate it.

Depends: If the fluid is clear and not infected antibiotics will not help. Sometimes a decongestant or sinus wash could help you with this problem. Best to have somebody examine your ear drums before deciding.

every now and then the lobes of my ears (flappy things), will scab up and fall off and bleed.  they then scab up then heal to normal. what is that?

Skin infection: I have only seen this type of skin reaction in pierced ears and it is usually related to a bacterial skin infection. I suggest a dermatology evaluation. Just to clarify: you are not really stating that your entired eablobe falls off-just scabbing?

Got flu?: Influenza flu is a viral infection that effects your respiratory system. The symptoms are: muscle ache, headache,  congestion, weakness and fatigue. No treatment is need it. Good rest and lots of water.

i woke up in middle of night with severe ringing in both of my ears that is so loud it completely overwhelms me. it lasts only a minute but it builds to a point so loud it feels like my ears are being zapped. this is second time its happened?

Tinnitus: Tinnitus is a very uncomfortable condition. It is frequently traced to inner ear hair cell damage caused by exposure to loud sounds, whiplash, head injuries, too much ear wax, or medication side effects. It can worsen with age, dehydration, and specific diseases (Meniere's disease, high blood pressure) Treatment involves addressing the underlying cause. Talk to your Dr for exam, tests &amp; treatment.

Otalgia: Otalgia is fancy term for ear pain but it doesn't explain cause. Ear is comprised of 3 distinct parts. Inner ear doesn't typically hurt but can lead to dizziness when irritated. Middle &amp; out ear can hurt due to infection, whereby latter is distinguished by pain upon pulling/touching outer ear. Eustachian tube dysfunction can also hurt, too. Check w/your Family Doc to determine what's causing pain.

one of my ears feels like it needs to pop-what should i do?

Move lower jaw: It may be a eustacian tube that is clogged on that side, or it may be wax or debris in the outer ear canal.
Open your jaw half way and move your chin from side to side...This may open the eustacian tube. Try a decongestant, also.
Have someone check your outer ear canal for wax or debris. You may need to irrigate the ear canal to remove debris.
