Not necessarily: Foot pain and aching joints can be part of hypothyroid syndrome, but can also be a myriad of other things. I would visit my favorite podiatrist for an exam to rule out any other issues.

had foot surgery done and one of my incisions did not close all the way. doc did i&d and same outcome experience. could my hypothyroidism be a culprit?

Not thyroid: I wouldn't chalk it up to the thyroid disorder.  Some wounds get infected and it just takes a long time to get them healed up. Be patient and follow all the wound care instructions. Good luck

Complicated: You have lots of issues and need to see your doc. Make out a list of all your issues so you don't leave anything out. The doc should have an answer or in your case a few answers to cover all of your issues. I don't think one problem is all you have. Reck you TSH level will clarify thyroid problem. Sound like a rheumatism type illness or poisoning by cholesterol medication.

Also check out http://en.Wikipedia.Org/wiki/myxedema for info re myxedema which is described as thickening of skin associated w/hypothyroidism. This should improve once hypothyroidism is treated. Go see your family doctor for testing & treatment.

Check cortisol, ACTH: although some of your symptoms are nonspecific the low body temperature might suggest cortisol deficiency. I would check a morning cortisol and ACTH level.
