Many causes: Anemia (low hemoglobin) can be a result of hypothyroidism through multiple mechanisms.  Low thyroid causes less production of blood cells resulting in a "normochromic" anemia.  It can also be associated with B12 deficiency and cause a "macrocytic" anemia.  It can also cause less iron absorption and result in a "microcytic" anemia.  If anemia persists after treating low thyroid, look other causes.

Blood tests: There are a few diseases that leap out from blood tests.  Most of the time, however, blood tests don't tell the doctor much on their own.  These results fall into the second group, not very specific.  Low ferritin is not nearly as worrisome as high ferritin.

: Weight loss in the setting of any metabolic issue, including hypothyroidism, can be VERY difficult. Once your thyroid numbers are normalized, seeing a nutritionist may prove to be very helpful-your doctor can arrange that. As for the anemia, there are different types and you need this diagnosed so you can be treated. You may need to see a hematologist to figure out what type of anemia you have.

MD follow up: Your doctor will need to address your hypothyroidism and get the levels back to normal. They will need to address your anemia - determine the cause and treatment. Then after you are healthy they can do a fertility evaluation to assist you in getting pregnant.

Slight hypothyroid: Hemoglobin of 9.3 needs close attention .
Slightly hypothyroid doesn't mean much. Either you have hypothyroidism or you do not.

For healthy diet: http://www.choosemyplate.gov/., exercise 30 minutes/day, drink enough water daily so your urine is mostly colorless, have safe sex, no tobacco alcohol weed or street drugs.

Anemia and pregnancy: Being pregnant can cause anemia.  Discuss with your obstetrician.  It also depends what your haemoglobin was before you were pregnant.

Multiple causes: If she's only 21 years old and has anemia, the source of her anemia needs to be discovered and corrected. Most commonly in females, it  it is due to heavy menstrual bleeding. Either way, anemia of any  source can cause hair loss. Given her anemia,  she should have her iron levels checked and possibly take iron supplements if needed. Similarly low thyroid hormones can cause hair loss.

ALWAYS serious: Being "a little bit anemic" is like being "a little bit pregnant." even if the anemia is not life-threatening, it warns that you're sick and you need to find the cause. Especially, iron deficiency anemia without explanation screams out for a work-up -- "am i losing blood into my gut from an undiagnosed cancer?" you must demand your physician find the cause.

Define low: After somewhat elevated hemoglobin  levels around birth, infants grow faster than their blood is produced & have relatively low hemoglobin levels in infancy and childhood when compared to teen or adult values. The expected hemoglobin values vary by age and gender.If really low, it most often reflects nutritional deficiency , specifically for iron, but could also be due to losses.
