The vast majority: of the time, this finding represents a benign angiomyolipoma and requires no treatment.  The ultrasound appearance is not diagnostic, but CT or MRI can usually make a definitive confirmation of the diagnosis due to certain unique features of the nodule on those modalities.

i have a complex endophytic left renal cyst. medial cortex just under the ureter opening. how are my chances of keeping most of my kidney?

Need only one: most can live with only one kidney for a life time.  You have noted a kidney with a renal cyst.  If the cyst is not compressing the ureter and the cortical structure is normal than the kidney may have normal function.  You should talk to the kidney doctor who ordered the study and discuss your concerns so as to better understand.  Hope this helps

Renal lesions: Would follow up with a nephrologist . He may consider assessing your diet / urine electrolytes/ uric acid /oxalate parathyroid hormone, to determine why you have multiple  renal calculi and a biopsy to assess the other lesions.

PKD: PKD runs in some families and gallops in others. Do Ja family tree. And is usually on both sides. If no PKD in family, then try to find out why u r having Kidney stones.  Then do a kidney stone tree. Go to uptodate.com and read more.

Renal lesions: We need much more information to address your concern. There are so many variables in your question. The lesions are small which does not allow the radiologist to provide a clear answer.

Maybe: Did you mean hypotension? This can cause pow blood flow to the =kidney which could cause damage to you kidney

Atrophy: Renal cortical thinning is seen due to functional loss of nephrons. There are many causes of "medical renal disease"which result in atrophy. Hypertension is the leading cause. Punctuate calcification s are very tiny stones. Contrast is supposed to be in the calyx, so i'm uncertain why that was stated. Was there anything else related to that statement?

hi, i have had painful abdomen pain for 3 months.  two ct scans, 3 ultrasounds and blood tests showed up all normal. except for the latest ultrasound that showed "increased echogenicity of the right renal cortex." what does that mean?

Not much: That finding is very vague and nonspecific.  The good news is that otherwise, things are good.  Unfortunately it sounds like the tests haven’t shown what’s wrong.  The other thing is that the kidney rarely feels pain so no matter what, the kidney is not causing the pain.  I recommend a Gastroenterologist.
