No  : The hair is breaking off because of defective protein. It is not true hair "loss" and will grow out once your thyroid level is normalized, but will take months.

A few things: Age is a factor here. A young person going thru a growth spurt would have increased caloric needs and if these were not met, weight could be lost. On the other hand, if a person increased their activity level this would also increase caloric needs. This again would lead to weight loss if the the new caloric needs were not met. In both cases a person's appetite may increase or stay normal.

Well, it's not good: Bad news about uncontrolled hyperthyroidism include atrial fibrillation (which increases risk of stroke) and osteoporosis (which increases risk of fracture). Yes: Yes, replacing thyroid hormone will fix the hair loss as long as it is caused by low thyroid hormone.  It will take some time before you notice a change (6-12 months).

Hyperthyroidism is: Most likely cause

tapezole getting thyroid numbers back to normal , but hair loss may continue for months and may not grow back for 1-2 years.

i had radioactive iodine treatment 6 months ago for hyperthyroidism. felt ok for months after but now have loss of muscle strength.is this expected?

NO!: Get some thyroid tests as soon as practicable...Muscle weakness can be due to persistent hyper-thyroidism  AND due as well to HYPO-thyroidism  EITHER are possible in patients after RAI  treatment!

See doctor: Suggest you see pcp for exam and proper diagnosis. There can be many causes for increased libido including hormonal, meds, drugs and environmental factors.  Write down and review with doctor when you noticed weight loss, palpitations and change in libido. Hope this helps.
