just want to ask some details regarding the result of my ultrasound "hyperchoic solid mass size 5.9cm x 2.4 cm x 4.3 cm adjacent to middle kidney?

Difficult: to get specific without additional details.  In general, uniformly hyperechoic well defined renal masses usually turn out to be benign fat-containing tumors called angiomyolipomas(AML).  However, sometimes malignant lesions can have a similar appearance. Generally CT and/or MRI would be the next step, AMLs have a very typical appearance on those modalities.  Talk to your doc about next steps.

hyperchoic nodular area in the liver anterior to the main portal vein measuring up to 1.4 cm. what?

Radiologist's opinio: There are some fleshy benign conditions  like hamangiomas, lipomas, cysts in the liver-congenital, cysts related to dog tape worms -hydatid cysts. Some are hyperechoic and some are hypo.If it is a single nodule , cirrhosis (scarring) is less likely as multiple nodules like this occur most of times. Do you have  alcohol use, drug induced liver damage .Radiologist's opinion first, then get your dr's.

is it reasonable to wait one month to biopsy a hyperchoic mass that doesn't appear to be a typical polyp and could be "endometrial carcinoma?"

Speak with: your doctor about it, but waiting one month is unlikely to change the prognosis.

soft lump on tibialis posterior near inner ankle. painless there 7 months. doctor said it was just muscle ( hypergole). should i worry it's cancer?

Watch it, if it grow: You should check it to see if it is getting bigger. If it is cancer, it will grow and increase in size.Then you need to get it removed.

had trans-vaginal ultrsnd finding was heterogeneous anteverted uterus size8.14 x4.62x3.32 cm, endometrial stripe size of 0.17.,no cysts/mass on either ovary. & a vaginal wall mass thats hyperchoic w/no color flow, what does this report suggest i have?

: This needs to be correlated to your pelvic exam. There are benign cysts of the vagina which could appear like this on ultrasound and they should be readily apparent on exam.

Yes it is: The traditional model is one called autosomal co-dominant , meaning that if a parent has a single gene for this condition there is a 50% chance it will be passes to a child . The disease is expressed by the presence of only one gene causing a less severe form of high cholesterol elevation called heterozygous fh . If both parents pass a gene to a child then they have the severe form of the disease.

Lipid Deposits: Familial hypercholesterolemia (fh) is a genetic disorder causing decreased clearance of LDL from blood. Most patients get a defective gene from on parent causing heterozygous fh (about 1 in 500 children). Rarely, genes from both parents are defective giving homozygous fh (1 in 1, 000, 000). Beyond high LDL levels, lipid deposits called xanthomas, can occur in tendons on the back of the heal or hands.

May be: Hypertension run in families. I am not sure, if there is a known genetic correlation to call it as hereditary. When genetic science improves, we may call it as hereditary. Bot, for now, there is an association between hypertension and blood relatives.

It can be: Yes, atherosclerosis, cholesterol and many other factors can be hereditary - there is a genetic factor - but that is not the end of the story.  Smoking, diabetes, overweight/obesity, diet, exercise, cholesterol control (i.e. The preceeding and medications) can influence the progress of atherosclerosis.  1st: know you numbers, 2nd: control the aforementioned factors and take your rx(s).

my ldl cholesterol, vldl chol ratio is high. are these related?

Yes and No: Vldl (very low density cholesterol) is made in the liver, and contains both triglycerides (tg's) and cholesterol ( more tg's than cholesterol). Ldl is made in the blood stream from vldl, and contains more cholesterol, less tg's . Both have a protein called apob on the surface, but because LDL lasts longer , there is more LDL available. Both can cause plaque in arteries if levels are too high.
