Atarax (hydroxyzine): Since it is a centrally acting antihistamine with sedation properties, it tends to be the slight slowing down of metabolism at nighttime (when metabolism tends to pick up) as well as Atarax (hydroxyzine) does tend to cause some nocturnal eating, which also contributes.

Not much: Hydroxyzine is a pretty well tolerated medication. The most common side effect is sleepiness and sometimes feeling dry. I have not seen weight gain as a problem or intestinal issues.  And I do prescribe this medication frequently.

Congrats: On this achievement, loosing that much weight, hydroxyzine, like any other antihistaminic, is an appetite stimulant, other antihistamines differ in their appetite stimulation capacity, especially the newer ones, please revise your treatment options with your physician,  look for alternatives if possible, good luck
