Vodka: Any regular alcohol causes damage to the liver, the stronger the more damage, the longer the use, the more damage, the higher the alcohol level in the blood, the more the damage, to other organs as well.  Some individuals are more resistant to damage, others more sensitive. He should be checked for damage, and should stop, with counseling, treatment program, and support.

i'm 26y male, active lifestyle but for the past 7 years i've been drinking 1.4l of vodka every week or so. drank in 2-3 days. no hangover / throw up but lately my right upper abdomen feels sensitive. could it be my liver ? i feel well; just concerned?

: High likelihood of alcoholic hepatitis. Very likely addicted to alcohol (individuals often don’t realize). You DEFINITELY need addiction counseling as well as a Gastroenterologist evaluation to successfully recover

this past year after drinking tequila drinks the bottom of my feet itch & just recently i have started getting terrible headaches & now throwing up after 1 drink. vodka does the same but much milder. rum has no effect. what could this be?

: One of the best things about the Nature of the Body is that it tells the Body what it does not like. The Body is signaling One it does not like Alcohol. Feet itch and Headaches might just be the first signs of more progressive illness, like Liver Disease, if one continues to ignore these warnings.

Alcoholism: Needs to be addressed or the person will destroy his/her body, mind, family, and spirit.  If you are the loved one of an alcoholic, please consider going to AlAnon meetings.   They will help you keep yourself together no matter what your loved one is doing.  It's also a good example.  Peace and good health.

Testing needed: Congratulations on quitting this very dangerous habit! The only way to know if you have liver damage is to get blood work. But if you do, stopping all alcohol intake will greatly lengthen your life. Get tested in any case so you know if you need to take any other precautions. Asking Doctors: Many medications do not work well when used while also drinking alcohol.  Your medications are just those medications. It is advised that you do not drink while on this medication.

Watch for cirrhosis: Alcoholic hepatitis would be more the concern. Your liver is an amazing organ in that it has the ability to regenerate. However, organs have finite reserves and once you have cirrhosis, there are too many complications to mention. Seek help such as aa or tell a friend. Otherwise life will be short and full of medical complications at a young age.

Not the Vodka: It's not the vodka, but more likely the talking, eating and probably clenching and\or grinding your teeth while you were sleeping.
