Ovarian cysts: Have you spoken to your GYN or MD about them? Do they hurt frequently or only once a month? Did they say this was polycystic ovarian disease? Changes in diet may help with pain. Surgery sometimes is needed. Consult with us to help decrease pain with diet choices.

Are you sure ribs?: If you truly have rib pain, ie, you have pain when you press on the rib cage, it is almost certainly a muscle/skeletal issue.  If you don't have actual pain on the rib it may actually be pain in your abdomen-look at a drawing of the abdomen and note the diaphragm, which separates the chest and abdominal cavity, actually rises above the bottom of the ribs.  Go see your doctor, it could be serious!

Requires Hx/exam: This is not something you can sort out with a few questions. A full review of your history, onset, pattern, relieving factors etc. is needed. An exam and possibly some testing are also needed to begin sorting this out.

Pinch: Since you are 72 don't minimize any chest pain. See the doc asap and have it checked out. Make sure he also checks the rib edges since it is a sharp pain.

: There are many possibilities, depending on exactly where the pain is located. Is it usually on one side more than the other? Depending on where it is, it could be a muscle spasm-are you doing a certain activity when it comes about? If it continues, you should have it evaluated by your doctor who can ask these questions and examine the area. Good luck!

Cysts or ovulation: You may have cysts on your ovaries or you're experiencing the pain that may accompany ovulation.  Both can be managed in several ways.  I would get a sonogram and see your md.

Cornea scratched?: The cornea (clear part of the eye where the contact lens sticks to) is very pain-sensitive. If one has pain after putting in a contact lens, there may be a torn contact lens, some dirt or an eyelash under the contact lens, a scratch on the cornea, or an infection of the cornea. The contact lens should be taken out right away, and rinsed and examined. If the eye still hurts, a doctor can evaluate.
