STD: Hpv (human papilloma virus) is a sexually transmitted disease.  It typically is without symptoms.  However, many strains of the virus are linked to cervical dysplasia and cancer.

Maybe CIN2?: "Stage" isn't normally used in connection with HPV. If you've had an abnormal pap smear, I wonder if you have CIN2. CIN means cervical intraepithelial neoplasia, with increasing severity (further along toward possible cancer) for 1, 2, and 3. If you have CIN2, follow your doctor's advice about treatment and follow-up. That will prevent progression to cancer. Discuss with your doctor.

: It is not the HIV itself but the lowering of immunity which can cause cancer and not enough longterm studies exist to make any certain statements.

is there an alternative for severe stage 2 cystocele other than mesh? i am an athlete, mom of 4, post hysterectomy from hpv 4 yrs, & only 36. help!

Yes: Mesh is definitely not your only option.  Doctors can suspend vagina wall from the inside/abdomen as well.  If it were me, and i were 36 years of age, i would not recommend vaginal mesh in you.  You are way too young.  Of course pessary is an option too, in the meantime while you make a decision.  Or for long term. See a urogynecologist, board certified, to make sure you are in the best hands.

Think of the worst: If you have confirmed hpv infection and has abnormal bleeding , i suggest you have pap smear if you did not already do . If you have pap smear , i would recommend to go to your doc to have repeat test  and further elaborate evaluation . Good luck.

HPV: You were exposed to hpv as a young man.  You most likely cleared it and have nothing to worry about.  96% of us are infected by age 26.  If you have a history of any anal warts then the next step is to get an anal pap smear with the reflex hpv hybrid testing. But if you have no anal history then there is nothing to advise you to do.

Passed same way: The fact is all sexually transmitted diseases share a common issue.They are passed during sexual activity. A person can be infected with one or several at the same time and pass none or all at a given sexual encounter. Herpes is a different germ than HPV. Testing for STD's varies with those under consideration. No single test includes all at once.

HPV18 or 81?: I wonder if you mean HPV18, not 81. HPV18 is quite common and one of the major cancer-causing HPV types. If truly type 81, it's probably unimportent. Two people cannot "create" HPV"; it was acquired sexually from someone else. Most HPV infections are cleared by the immune system and do not come back, and even high risk types rarely progress to cancer. Get vaccinated!

would it be healthy for me to take a second hpv test just two months after?

No: Two months after what? If you had a pap that was normal, but was positive for hpv, the current guidelines call for a repeat in 1 year. Your risk of a current cancer is low, but you have to be more concerned about future paps. Discuss your concerns with your gynecologist.
