how to fix a collapsed lung in the middle of nowhere? if in a town there is only one doctor and he does not have the fancy equipment how and what can he use to save the person with the collapsed lung?

Accepted Answer

If : If i were in a location where someone had a collapsed lung, at the very least, betadine, if available, and an 18g angiocath needle would suffice to emergently release air from the pleural space and allow the collapsed lung to reexpand. This is of course merely a temporary maneuver, depending on the size of the injury to the lung. I would only try this maneuver if i had the proper skills and education as to the location of the lung, major blood vessels and after weighing the risks and benefits. But, in the case of do or die, a needle placed in the lateral midaxillary line or two fingers width "south" in relation to the clavicle, should adequately allow a needle to be safely inserted into the pleural space. (hopefully, too, one has a stethoscope to ensure the correct side is treated!).

Unlikely: Gym equipment is used regularly and most gyms have rules about cleaning them after each use.  Someone with ope, infectious sores might be the source of a problem, but that is an ethical problem.  You are probably nor more likely to get infected in a gym, than you might by simply opening doors in a building frequented by many people.

: Yes, you are safe. The vaccine has fully protected you. You are only wearing a mask to protect others that have chosen not to get vaccinated.

PrePregnancy Workout: The fact that you're exercising prior to conception is fantastic. No cardiovascular or weight-bearing exercise will affect your abilitiy to conceive unless you're exercising in excess and are underweight. As long as you have regular periods, keep it up and start taking prenatal vitamins.

Closed chain: So not knowing what type of knee injury you have this will be a bit generic.  Usually for knee injuries i would recommend what is called closed chain exercises, which are any exercises in which the sole of the foot contacts the ground or a platform.  This would include squats, leg press, cycling, elliptical trainer, calf raises.  And not isolation exercises such as quad extension/hamstring curls.

6wkspregnant. xfit gym i use has every1 wipe down equipment w/ lysol/pinesol mix. i havent sprayed since ttc but i can smell it & ppl spray it next to me. today i left midclass bc cleaner smell was strong after sprayed close to me. cause baby harm?

Baby should be fine: Great news, inadvertent or transient inhalation of routine cleaning products should not confer any increased risk to your baby.  Congratulations on the pregnancy!

i had a straddle injury from gym equipment, i am female, after 2 weeks i had a large lump under my vulva, a hematoma 3cm. one month later it is about 1cm. do i need to see a dr?

Resolving well: Since the hematoma (a collection of blood and fluid) is gradually shrinking, it seems like your body is doing an adequate job reabsorbing the fluids. You do not need to see a Dr at this time.

You may need none if you just want to walk or run.
Weights will help to build and tone muscle.
