Confirmation: There are "therapists" who will try to evoke these memories and then tell you they are real and that remembering them will heal you. This is not evidence-based and is rejected by most scientific practitioners; it has caused terrible problems for families. If you had the memory with your others before treatment, you remember details & it makes sense, it's probably real. But look forward, not back.

Blocked memory: Yes it's quite possible and not too uncommon. However, bear in mind that all of us have limited recollection of our childhood regardless of whether there was trauma or not. Although others may disagree, there is little point in trying to uncover something hidden in your childhood unless it is having an negative . .Affect on you or others today.

Memory: Well, not intentionally. However if you involved in a significant trauma especially loss of consciousness you may forget the event. It is called amnesia.

Depends: The answer depends on where the tbi took place in your brain and if the "memory centers" were affected, etc.  Hopefully you have a good team of rehab specialists that are specifically trained in tbi rehab/therapy.  Best wishes.

Yes (=could be both): It depends on the extent of your trauma, the kind and number of triggers, how long ago it happened, and how well you "do" on your first session (in terms of following the concept and instructions). Don't go in expecting to be cured, just helped, and then you can hopefully be happier when done than when went in. Good luck!

Yes trauma does this: Trauma releases chemicals that are deleterious to your memory cells. Some of those memory cells unfortunately die off. Part of the action of antidepressants is to stimulate brain derived  neurotrophic  factor, which helps those brain cells regrow so that your memory becomes sharper again. Best wishes.:).

PTSD: Amnesia is a distressing symptom to many PTSD sufferers. If you’re having ongoing symptoms of PTSD, depression, or other signs of a mental health issue, please seek an evaluation with a mental health provider.  There are ways to cope with the illness using meds and therapy.  Treatment would likely benefit both your PTSD as well as your focus on health issues as well.
