Ear Infection: You may have severe ear pain, but it may be caused by an ear infection, sinusitis, TMJ disease or any other cause.  Please see your primary care physician for further evaluation and treatment.

Examination: An ear infection may cause fullness in the ear, pain or decreased hearing in the ear. There may be a discharge form the ear canal. It may also cause swelling around the lymph nodes in the neck. There may be a fever or referred pain to another part of the head.

Varies: The pain should be getting a lot better, if it is not, you may want to return to your doctor for a check. A feeling of fullness, decreased hearing, and popping and crackling in the ears that can sometimes be painful all can stay around for a few weeks to a few months.

Hydrogen peroxide:wa: If pain or fever or bleeding from ear canal see PCP.  If previous history of ear wax, try weekly rinse of canal with hydrogen peroxide: water in 1 to 1 proportions.

Symptom ear infectio: Babies  with ear infections may have fever, ear pain (tug at ears), ear drainage, irritability.  Sometimes they may have very little to no symptoms and the infection is detected when their doctors check their ears.
