Not necessarily: Unless you have an established anxiety disorder, you shouldn't need xanax (alprazolam). The insertion of the iud is quick; most women will feel a quick pinch when it is implanted. I recommend that you see a marriage counselor to resolve this because no matter what happens one of you will resent the other (more). Pregnancy can happen after 5 years but sometimes the presence of the IUD, no matter how old, can prevent pregnancy. If she were to conceive, IUD removal can cause a miscarriage.

Once removed , it takes time for the womb to get ready, (months) The cited average wait for a desired pregnancy is 6 mo when the womb is ready (range wks to 1 yr). If you want to get pregnant take the IUD out &amp; start the waiting period. Do not expect to get pregnant on your schedule. It happens or not on its own schedule.

If the result is negative repeat the test 4-5 days later unless you get a period by then. Use first morning urine and follow the instructions carefully.

If she keeps worrying about pregnancy, she can do a home urine pregnancy test. Tests are inexpensive, very accurate, and sold in stores everywhere. Adding condoms helps prevent infections.
