Skates=no arch: Roller skates and bowling shoes have no support.  I'm thinking you have a high arch foot.  You need some decent arch supports.  A podiatrist will most likely have a very affordable solution to your problem!

Overuse: Make sure to rule out a stress fracture of the for.  If it's not a stress fracture, then it's most likely an overuse injury such tendonitis.
I recommend that you see a podiatrist and get an x-ray taken.

Toe injury: You may have a broken toe. Apply ice and take some medication for pain. If it is very swollen and painful you will need to get a Xray to evaluate for a fracture

Tape them together: If the toe is straight and you can bend it without a lot of pain then split it by taping it to the toe next to it. If the toe is crooked or very painful, go get an X-ray
