Should be okay: If you did not have any bleeding or irritation when you put in the earrings then it should be fine to start back to wearing them.

Don't wear them: You most probably have allergic contact dermatitis to the metal in your earrings. The most frequent cause is nickel that is present in cheaper and costume jewelry. Either try stainless steel or more expensive earrings, wear your current earrings for a short time only, or see an allergist or dermatologist for patch testing, particularly if other substances (perfume, soap, clothes) bother your skin.

Ear piercing: You may have a localised infection. you can clean the piercings with alcohol and then use a little antibacterial ointment for a few days. when they  are less inflamed, you can try putting the posts through again.

: Ear piercing holes  can become infected if used infrequently and extra force or abrasion occurs when putting in the earring for the first time. If the area around the hole is red, hot or swollen, these are all signs of infection. If there are none of these signs, the green crud could have been just some waxy buildup or accumulated debris.
