Accepted Answer

Always possible: External hemorrhoids of pregnancy can heal once delivery occurs if they are not actively bleeding or infected. However, your OB MD can facilitate this process by treating the hemorrhoid now while you are  still pregnant with medication. Ask him/her to do so.

Pregnancy: Birth control pills after a pregnancy is to prevent another pregnancy. If you had complications your doctor might not want you ( and you as well) to get pregnant too soon.

is it possible to have an outbreak during labor if you have genital herpes even if you were taking a medication to prevent the outbreak?

Accepted Answer

Herpes: Yes.  It is possible to have an outbreak of herpes during delivery even if you are on suppression therapy.  Under these circumstances, a cesarean section is often performed.

No: No hemorrhoid are not normal but they can happen. They are congested blood vessels in the anal canal and are caused by straining to have a bowel movement associated with constipation
the best way to prevent them or relieve the symptoms is to eat a high fiber diet with plenty of fluids.

Eat a healthy: Hi fiber diet, drink plenty of fluids 80-100 oz per day of caffeine free and alcohol free fluid, avoid straining, diarrhea, constipation and stop reading on the toilet. Treat them right and they will treat you right and last a lifetime without the need for surgery.

None: Food is not the cause or cure for disease. High fiber foods will help prevent constipation which may aggravate hemorrhoids, butt won't cure the problem nor does it cause it.  If you want to prevent hemorrhoids walk on all fours like a gorilla

there are dietary, behavioral, hygiene modifications as well as procedures that can help these common problems.Both constipation and diarrhea can lead to this  condition as well it is best if you consult with a general or colorectal surgeon to help with preventative steps.

Use stool softener.: Both as treatment and prevention.Eat more fiber, drink more water and exercise more.Hemorrhoids are basically veins that have been injured by our bad habits.Don't let your stools become very hard, the job of the colon is to recover the fluid in the stool;if we do not drink enough water, or eat only highly processed food (no fiber) and don't exercise(the helper to bowel transit) we can expect problems.

High fiber, Sitzbath: Warm sitz bath with epsom salts three times a day would help and so would a high fiber diet with plenty of water. Avoiding  straining during defecation also helps.

No: Pregnancy and childbirth will never be risk free. Today we can anticipate and manage a wide variety of diseases and conditions that were lethal just decades ago, but there are still some things we cannot fix. This coupled with a population that does;t go and see a physician during their pregnancy means that there will never be a risk free pregnancy.
