No: Try to sleep on your left side, it will keep pressure off your aorta and provide better blood supply to the babies. All the best and I hope all goes well.

Comfort her: There are many reasons for the baby not to be comfortable and refuse to go to sleep. Things which make baby uncomfortable are dirty diaper, hunger, loud noises and light around. Baby over exhausted, over tired, over sleepy. Then there are medical reason like stuffy nose, fever, formula problems.

Routines: Initially, babies may have chaotic schedules, with night and day switched. Over a month or so that fixes itself with daylight exposure. Best thing to do is establish a bedtime routine. Mine involved feeding, a brief amount of play, bath, change, book, feed, bed. Always put them down awake, so they recognize the crib as the sleep place. If done consistently, they will fall asleep on their own.

Tooth decay: Babies who fall asleep with a bottle in their mouths are sleeping with milk sugar on their teeth. This leads to baby bottle tooth decay. It is much better to use a pacifier, if needed, at bedtime.

Bedtime routine!: Develop a short but very consistent bedtime routine that you can use anywhere.  When you use it regularly at home and condition your baby to go to sleep with that routine, you can then use it at a friend's house, on a trip, anywhere.  Add in a "lovey" to have an extra bit of familiarity at bedtime.

Yes: The risk of sids is definitely increased in babies who sleep on their tummies, and slightly less if sleeping on their side.  If baby falls asleep on her tummy, try to turn her over to her back once she is asleep.  Make sure her bed doesn't have any pillows, quilts, or other soft bedding in which she could suffocate, in case she falls asleep on her stomach and you don't have a chance to turn her.

Likely tired: If you change your schedule to offer feedings when baby first wakes up, baby will less likely fall asleep feeding. If fed when tired, they often settle into a quiet period & drift off to sleep using feeding as a sleep ritual.

Start of right: Babies do not understand sleep like an adult.They drift into sleep like you would in a boring lecture. If you lay baby down awake but tired &read to him from a distance, he can start the night off alone, like he will be @ 3am. Once he knows how to go down on his own, you can check on him in 5-10 min intervals until he resettles.He may just have some separation anxiety & need to know things are ok.
