i've had a boil now for 4 days and have done epsom salt baths, heat compress, and i've done epson salt peroxide solution and nothing. what should i do?

Furuncle: There is not much else to do.  I would not lance it on your own as it may introduce infection.  You may need to go to your primary if it needs to be opened up to heal.

i hurt my quad, and it hurts badly when i try to run. will making an epsom salt compress actually help?  what else can i do for super quick relief?

Yes: you can try that.  ice the area for 15 minutes and repeat after a 10 minute break.  you can take motrin as directed as well.  if it is still very painful you may need it to be evaluated.  if it is weak or you are having difficulty bearing weight you need to be seen.  if you can move fine and it's just sore, stick with rest, motrin, and ice.  after 24 hours you can start applying heat to the area

is it dangerous to ingest epsom salts?

Depends on the dose: Epsom salts are Magnesium Sulfate which is safe for human consumption in limited doses.  You may notice on the epsom salt container that it can be used as a laxative, which is the effect of ingesting larger amounts of magnesium sulfate.  Ingestion of too much could lead to problems due to the laxative effect, but again a small amount should not be dangerous when used appropriately.

No: They actually tend to help the problem. If ur allergic or are having more pain or discomfort with use, please discontinue and do just warm water sitz bath.

EYE WASH: Best to use a commercially prepared 'eye wash solution' eg. Blinx, dacryose, eye wash in a 4 0z squeeze bottle. Nerver use an eye cup.

Epsom: salts contain magnesium sulfate, which is different from   the sulfonamides, which make up the composition of sulfa drugs.  So there should be no problem using Epsom Salts in the presence of sulfa drug allergy.

Magnesium content: Muscle aches and strains may be prolonged or made worse by electrolyte  imbalances. Magnesium is  an important micronutrient for muscle activity, including heart muscle. Epsom salt soaks are thought to improve access of the  tissues to magnesium.
