Depeds: On , you are eating more , or less food.  With symptomatic gall stones , due to pain afraid to eat  for fear of getting an attack so loose weight, , after removal no more gall bladder attacks , eat better ( more ) so gain weight.

having gallbladder surgery does not make people lose weight 
some might lose few pounds from any surgery

Exercise & Diet: Dieting appropriately and supplementing with a regimented exercise program is the best way to lose weight.  Carbohydrates will cause you to gain weight, so a diet that helps to at least start to curtail the amount of carbohydrates you take in, will be a good start.  Good luck.

Depends on you: After removal of gall bladder you no longer have pain tend to eat more and gain weight,.after surfer if you eat more will gain weight ,if you eat less will loose weight.

Weight loss: They may not be related. Weight loss is a challenge. If you are having trouble losing weight, ask for a thyroid lab evaluation. If your TSH is &gt;2.5 and you are having trouble losing weight you may benefit from thyroid replacement. Be well.

Weight gai common: I have seen this amount of weight gain following gb surgery...You must be placed on a medically supervised diet and lose this weight asap as you are heading to lifetime of obesity.

Generally 5-8 pounds with multiple repeats is well tolerated
The goal is to avoid pain or hernia in incisions.
Open versus laparoscopy.Your surgeon knows your tissues and the closure- so that is your accurate source.

Probably no: some people have trouble tolerating some fatty foods while gallbladder is inflamed or symptomatic.  Once It is out you can enjoy all the foods that you could not before, so it is kind of related - but not gallbladders fault.  Try to think about your diet and portion control.

Unexplained weight: loss needs to be investigated by your doctor.  Possibilities include the fact that you are not absorbing nutrients, thyroid or other hormonal imbalance.  Please see your doc and get a second opinion if needed.  Peace and good health.
