Acid reflux: This may be acid reflux. You can see your local ENT who can use a camera to look down your throat - very simple procedure done in the clinic without sedation.

i have covid & recovering at home, i'm taking mucus medication to loosen the mucus but now that it's loosen it seems to make my chest tight until i cough, however it doesn't allow me to spit it out as it just stay in my throat. should i be worried?

Water intake: The key factor when taking mucolytics is water intake. If you take a mucus medication but do not increase your water intake, it tends to make you a little dehydrated. Increase your non caffeinated fluid intake so that you are taking at least 3.5 liters in a day. This will allow your body to recruit some of this liquid to make your mucus thinner and easy to spit or cough out.

why do i have ongoing occasional excruciating pain in my upper right 
back so intense i cant move. also experiencing chest tightness, a dry cough, nasal drip constant clearly of throat to loosen feeling of tight chest.chest x-ray and scan clear?

: If the doctor, who apparently examined you, and  who ordered chest x-ray and scan was not able to figure out the nature of your condition, it is not reasonable to expect anyone in this forum to be able to do better. You may take acetaminophen for pain, no more than 4 g/day, no alcohol. A supervised program of exercise would be worth try.

Call your allergist: If you are having bothersome symptoms, just call the office - they will get you in right away, or tell you what you can do. If you already have a diagnosis of asthma, use your rescue inhaler. If you don't have one, hot, caffeinated beverages often have a mild effect to relieve chest tightness. But call your allergist - particularly if breathing problems are a new symptom for you,they'll get you in

Some basics: The value of inhaled steroids is it targets the drug action on the very lung tissues which need it without leaving muck to enter the blood. It does not have the same dependency issues as oral steroid pills. If you truly feel tight when off the med you likely have mild asthma &amp; this keeps it in control. Many mild forms called cough variant asthma are never definitively labeled.

COPD: People who have chronic reactive airway disease for years may go on to copd. Otherwise you may only periodically wheeze on exposure to certain triggers like animal hair. In between episodes you shouldn't experience sob or chest tightness. Burping is often a nervous habit of air swallowing and only causing more burping ?tension. I recommend getting a proper diagnosis by consulting a pulmonologist.

The best way to evaluate sleep apnea vs upper airway resistance syndrome is  with an overnight sleep study. You may be monitored in a sleep lab or sometimes at home with many sensors to help make a diagnosis.
