Stye: Would advise waiting until the stye is gone.  The contact lens could feel uncomfortable in your eye if the stye is still there.

Warm hot compresses : 100+ times per day when stye firsts starts.

Chronic chalazion: You most likely have a chalazion, not a stye.  A chalazion is a chronic infection in the eyelid gland, causing a small pea-shaped lump in the eyelid.  This may respond to warm compresses and oral antibiotics, but sometimes this needs to be incised and drained.  This is a simple office procedure that is not difficult for the patient to go through.  See your eye doctor if this doesn't get better.

Eye doctor: Most styes do not need surgery. Antibiotic ointment and warm compress.  However, if you have a stye that is no resolving your best choice is to see an optometrist or ophthamologist.

Sty: Microwave a clean potato with the skin on for four minutes.  Wet a wash cloth or small towel with warm or hot water. Squeeze out the excess water and wrap it around the potato. Apply this to the eye lid until it cools down (about 15minutes).This can be repeated intermittently. Please see your opthamologist if no improvement.

Heat pack it: It may be still inflamed.  Please use heat pack for 3-5 mins 2-3x per day.  Please also wash your lashes with baby shampoo.  It may take a few weeks or less.

You're prone: Some people are prone to this usually as a result of a fair complexion and cooexistent rosascea.  Try using daily hot compresses for 5 minutes every day.  It might solve the problem.  There are pills that can be used as well in severe cases.

Not contagious: Yes you can go to school even if you have a stye.  If you were given prescription eye drop antibiotics to use, then make sure to follow the recommended dosing interval while in school.

Yes: Stye is a localized infection of eyelash follicle gland ; is not really contagious. (similar to an acne pimple.

Yes: Styes are not infectious and you will not pass this to a fellow employee or a customer.  Some styes however, are very large and unsightly and if you are directly dealing with the public, your supervisors might not exactly be pleased.
