No, : No, that is a good question, but there is no evidence in the scientific literature that shows that thyroid imbalance affects ethanol metabolism.

No: There is no consensus that alcohol reduces metabolism in most people - only the heaviest drinkers, many of whom are vitamin deficient and have thyroid damage really have lower basal metabolism rate.  I am not aware of anything implicating marijuana in changes in metabolic rate.

Only in excess: Many studies have shown that a woman who drinks one alcoholic beverage a day or a man who has 2 drinks will live longer than those who drink more or less alcohol. Higher intakes can effect metabolism including calcium especially if there is a poor nutritional intake.

It depends: Alcohol has about 8 kcal of energy compared to sugar with about 4kcal of energy.   So it could be that a drink with lower alcohol could be considered safer because it had less alcohol and hence prevented unnecessary weight gain or other complications.  Alcohol is a sedative so it can be argued it helps slow down metabolism.   This is marketing!  lite beer has likely killed a lot of people.

Possibly: Since alcohol is primarily metabolized by the liver, when the liver malfunctions because of cirrhosis this may result in higher blood alcohol levels than in people with normal livers.

i drank 4 mixed drinks&one beer this mon. night and am supposed to test this thurs. afternoon. i am approx 125lb, have an above avg metabolism, and cycle for 40min a day plus hydrate?

: You will have alcohol in the urine possibly ( its been 4 days ). Now it depends what the Urine test is for - if you take opioids then this will be a failed test- as many prescribers of opioids will have a no alcohol policy.  Also drinking the amount you have at one sitting is never a good idea.

See below : I am not really sure what you mean by alcohol reducing metabolism.  It clearly reduces intestinal motion and function in certain parts of the brain.  Its overall effect on metabolic rate is not much.  Marijuana also reduces function in certain areas of the brain but has little impact on metabolic rate.

Healthy Lifestyle: Not skipping meals will help boost your metabolism. Eating smaller healthy meals/snacks 4-6 times a day keeps your metabolism going, skipping meals can slow it down. Exercise also helps. Muscle requires energy, even when you are not doing anything. So the more muscle you have the more your metabolism needs to work to make energy for your muscles. Good luck!
