Pulse: A normal pulse rate is between 60 and 100 -- while a pulse of 120 would be normal with exercise or exertion, a base rate of 120 is elevated and needs to be evaluated by a physician.

Sign of health: Actually, even though you consider yourself to be not in great shape, the slow pulse suggests you're better than you think.  Heartrate is regulated by need and during rest, a slow hr is entirely normal so long as your metabolic need is normal as yours obviously is. A rapid resting rate is much more ominous.

would it be normal for resting pulse rate to be 80 beats per minute sitting down and then 95 beats per minute the next minute after just standing up?

: Yes, 80 is considered normal and it is expected to immediately rise with activity.  However, given these numbers, it might suggest that your body tends to be overall deconditioned or that you might be hypotensive forcing the pulse to rise more than 10 beats per minute.  You might consider checking your blood pressure while seated and immediately after standing to see how that is also impacted.

i'm a 18yo f with a pulse rate of 100-135 what should i do? i'm also a smoker of only a year. how can i slow it down? as well as quitting smoking

Biofeedback: helpful for both may be biofeedback.  Make sure about reasons/causes for each.  Anxiety, stress, etc.  hydrate with water.  Hope this helps.  Biofeedback is way you can tap into yourself and solve or improve a number of conditions.

for almost 2 weeks now, im having dizziness and high pulse rate while just sitting down, but my bp is normal. im 59 yrs old...is this just part of normal aging ?

: I don't consider this normal. This is a good reason for you to schedule a visit with your doc for a full evaluation. It may be a simple issue or a sign of something more worrisome coming on. Get scheduled soon. Your life may depend on it.

See your doctor: Your question is not clear, but a rapid resting heart rate is a concern.  Your doctor will check your thyroid, overall cardiac status, ekg, maybe more depending on what is found. Start with your primary care doctor.
