Probably normal: Having a white coating on the tongue surface is usually just debris caught in the papillae (bumps) of the surface.  Scraping your tongue with a tongue scraper regularly can reduce this. Another possibility is that you have a fungal infection of your mouth and the white coating is fungal growth. In that case you need to be treated with an anti-fungal medication. See your dentist to find out.

Canker sores can be caused by a variety of triggers, minor injury from dental work, vigorous brushing or sharp food, products containing sodium lauryl sulfate, acidic foods, diet lacking in vit B12, zinc, folate or iron, stress, hormone fluctuations. CS can also occur due to sp conditions: Celiac disease, inflammatory bowel diseases, autoimmune disorders or HIV.

Coated tongue: dermatologic conditions are hard to discuss without seeing them. but mostly, this is a coating from sinus congestion, reflux, or something you ate. Solvents (many mouthwashes) will dissolve it.
