Probably normal: Having a white coating on the tongue surface is usually just debris caught in the papillae (bumps) of the surface. Scraping your tongue with a tongue scraper regularly can reduce this. Another possibility is that you have a fungal infection of your mouth and the white coating is fungal growth. In that case you need to be treated with an anti-fungal medication. See your dentist to find out.
