what do i do to get rid of a cold sore/fever blister before school?

You Can't: Cold sores are caused by the herpes simplex i virus and usually take 10-14 days to resolve. Prescriptions meds (from dentist or md) can help reduce the discomfort & lessen the rate of recurrance but once the sore is present it has to run it's course.  Meds can help it feel better but not get rid of it.  The virus lives in the nerves and stays there forever once you get it & most people have it.

What other symptoms?: If you have a minimal temp elevation (less than 100.5), are not coughing, sneezing, having vomiting or diarrhea, or otherwise putting out secretions which carry the virus it is reasonably safe for you to go to school with small risk of infecting other students, but avoid touching people, kissing, or other intimate activities.  Use common sense both for you and your classmates.

Fluids and rest: If you are still having the symptoms of nausea and fever, you should not attend school tomorrow. I recommend a visit to your local Family Doctor or Pediatrician to determine the cause of your symptoms. Also stay well hydrated with water or an electrolyte drink.

Stressed: Obviously you're feeling stressed in some way, but you're considering avoidant or inauthentic ways ways of handling it.  If feeling stressed, talk with a counselor at school or other therapist so you can develop healthier ways to manage yourself.  Giving yourself a fever is not the answer.

Titrate: Cymbalta (duloxetine) is know to have the effects you mention.  The best way to discontinue the medication is to slowly take less and less.  Another possibility is to start on another medication.  Talk to your doctor about your choices.

Some basics: About 5-15% of kids given the MMR &amp; V will have fever 39.4c or higher 6-12 days after the vaccine. It is not unexpected or particularly worrisome as it indicated a reaction by the immune system. Any fever that occurs prior to this interval may represent an illness to which the child was exposed that has finally emerged. I would handle the fever with supportive care &amp; report the reaction to her doc

All : All of the symptoms and signs you described should be cause for concern and warrant investigation by a doctor. Children are usually very aware of their own bodies and when something is not quite right. In addition to a doctor evaluating him (examining his rectum and genitalia) you have to consider social issues. Is he having anxiety or depression for any reason? Is he being bullied? Are there problems in the home or at school? Often times these types of situations can cause children to have actual physical symptoms.
Please have him evaluated right away.
