i have a small apartment, kitchen which is also bedroom, my baby is coming up in few weeks how safe is to place a bed  for a newborn in a kitchen?

Crib: Keep the baby in a crib away from the stove and baby proof the stove and lock all the cabinets and put away the knifes.
In short make sure the baby cannot reach anything that could hurt her/him. Keep the temperature optimal and safe.

painters had to use oil based primer on bedroom door frames - smell has dissipated since earlier today but still there.  i have newborn-- windows open
ac on. i don't have anywhere else to stay so we will have to sleep here. will my baby be okay?

Probably fine but...: Use big fan in room. In future look for paints with low VOC's (volatile organic compounds). Consumer Reports magazine tests them for you. Your infant will let you know if he is uncomfortable by crying! Don't worry so much!

Comforting routine: Although babies may understand being tired, they don't understand the concept of sleep. They drift into sleep like adults in a boring lecture. Your tiredness routein should focus on settling baby down and excluding harsh distractions. A little light can help baby be aware of their comfort place; soft background noise from a fan or radio turned low. Put them down awake & don't change anythiing.

my newborn baby that 19, days old and she keeps crying i think she constipated, what can i give my new infant baby for the pain. can suppositories use?

Constipation: Is hard and infrequent stools. You can give a glycerin suppository once and see igf that helps. Baby may be crying if mom is breastfeeding and drinking milk, eating dairy. If using milk based formula then can also cause tummy ache. Baby could be colicky too.. Go see your doctor and discuss this. You will feel better and so will baby!

i have a hh agency(new), peds & just had first time request for light therapy for newborn jaundice infant. what complications are there?

See below: Blue light therapy for jaundice is standard for breaking down the bilirubin that is being produced and seen in the skin and sclera.  As long as the child's eyes are protected and hydration is monitored along with the bilirubin levels (by a health care professional), i fore see no complications as long as the bilirubin level is lowering and the child is not sick as well.

is it safe that i pump a 6oz bottle of breastmilk and feed it to my newborn at night?  he wakes up like 3 times & drinks 2 oz. i leave it in the bedroom

Safe- yes: Room temp stored breast milk- for overnight use is ok. But usually recommended to keep it refrigerated for use over 2-3 days. Frozen bm is suggested if used over a week.

More details would be helpful, including the birth history, infection risk factors and other laboratory studies. The value alone may indicate inflammation or infection associated with inflammation.  A chest image, blood and urine culture, and a complete blood count may be useful.

how does a newborn infant get a pneumothorax  and what's the difference between that an a tension pneumo?

Colapsed Lung: A pneumothorax occurs when air gets in the the space between the chest wall and the lung.  This space should not contain anything.  So when air gets in, the lungs have to become smaller.  A tension-pneumothorax is when the contents of the chest (heart, lung, collapsed lung) all shift to one side.  Typically this is life threatening because blood cannot flow well.  We don't always know why this is.

is infant/newborn nasal saline different from adults? should the package specify age group?

: The package would probably not indicate the age group  because the saline concentration is supposed to be as near that of the blood. There is the same range across various age groups.

Little risk. : Unless he has a urinary tract infection, urine is sterile and essentially poses little risk. I’d gently irrigate his eyes with an artificial tear or eye wash. Generally, don’t worry.
