2 weeks to 1 year: I am assuming you mean the Depo Provera (medroxyprogesterone) shot for birth control.  It is long acting pregesterone.  Most women have a return to full fertility in 2-6 weeks.  However, for a few women it is long and it takes up to a year to get regular periods and ovulate regularly for pregnancy.

Can I be pregnant?: While is is unlikely you got pregnant in this scenario, it is not impossible. If you have any worries you should do a pregnancy test after the appropriate time has passed after the sexual encounter.

Return of fertility: Expect a delay of fertility after stopping the "Depo" contraceptive shots. While Depo doesn't permanently affect fertility, it can take several months before its effects completely wear off. For example, about 50% of women trying to get pregnant after stopping Depo were able to get pregnant at 10 months. It can take 18 months. It often takes longer in overweight women. BUT, you never know...

Pregnancy test: Ovulation must occur in order for a pregnancy to occur.  Unfortunately, after stopping Depo Provera it can take several months to even over one year for a woman's body to resume regular ovulation, and therefore regular periods.   If you have any other symptoms or are concerned you may be pregnant at this time, take a home urine pregnancy test.

Unlikely: If you were only one day late on your shot the chances are very slim that you could be pregnant. I would use condoms for backup for the next month to be extra careful. You usually have to be more than 5-7 days late for your shot for that to be an issue.

Normal depo effect: Irregular periods are the norm on depoprovera. Many patients have no periods at all. Others will experience irregular menstrual bleeding. This is how Depo-Provera works. If you are not satisfied with the bleeding pattern on Depo-Provera then consider using a different birth control method.  If you think you might be pregnant check then check a home pregnancy test. They are cheap, reliable and available.

Yes, : Yes, it is possible for you to get pregant. This is because the hormones in each injection last about 3 months. Since it has been more than 3 months since your last dose, then it is possible that no birth control hormone is present in your system. While some women note that it takes a while for their mentsral cycle to return to normal, there is still a chance that you can get pregnant.
Look for the other early signs of pregnancy such as 
1. Nausea/vomiting - morning sickness 
2. Spotting/breakthrough bleeding - due to an egg's implantation into the uterus 
3. Back pain 
4. Breast enlargement and/or tendeness 
5. Heachaches - due to hormonal changes 
6. Nipple changes (for instance a change in color) 
7. Frequent urination

the pregnancy hormone can be detected in the urine 14 days after conception. Do take a pregnancy test after that time frame.

Drop shot?: I'm thinking maybe you meant Depo-Provera shot and certainly i tell my patients to use backup birth control the first 30 days once you are on the Depo-Provera shot, especially if it wasn't given during your period.
