Non penetration: or masturbation is only truly safe sex. Condom with anti-sprmicidal gel also qualifies for safe sex. Also IUD or Birth Control Pill between two completely clean (i.e. free of STD) partners is quite safe. But abstention or masturbation are the only 100% safe sex practices.

Safe from what?: If not married, there's no way to have sex and be safe from morality police. At ages 19 and 20, a couple might be safe from their parents (if not living with parents now). The biological purpose of sex is to create offspring, so naturally, there is no safe "natural" way to avoid getting pregnant. A couple can be safe from STD diseases if neither person has HIV, nor has had sex with another person.

Abstain: Condoms really are the only prevention we can against stds.  Both female and male condoms may be used.  Otherwise abstinence is the only other thing you can do.  Remember there are a variety of condom types, so if they are the issue try changing which type you are using.

Yes but clarify: I am assuming you are referring to one member of the couple having HIV and is on medication.  Condom use is never 100% protective in preventing the spread of sexually transmitted diseases, however, a condom use is better than not using anything.  Another member asked about use of a female and male condom; this would also be beneficial but not 100% protective.

Use a condom?: Anytime is safe sex if you are using a condom correctly. NO time is entirely safe if you are not using protection. Probably the safest time (if you are super regular) is during the week before you expect your period to come, but this is also not "safe sex" if unprotected. Good wishes to you.

New growth?: If it is a new growth on the genitals then is probably a wart. Could have contracted it when.
