While it yields the most dramatic improvement it also has the longest recovery and risk for complications such as scarring, infection and pigmentation changes. Fractionated co2 laser delivers laser light in columns, and thus only treats a percentage of the skin. Results are usually good, with much less recovery and risk.

Either one: There is a fraxel erbium laser and co2 laser.Fraxel means that liitle holes are created in your skin by the laser surrounded by normal skin. This way the skin heals faster than with the older erbium or co2 lasers where the entire surface of the skin was removed.While these lasers gave excellent results in wrinkling there was a high risk of infection, prolonged redness and delayed lightening of ski.

Best to ask your M.D: Usually i let the patient shower using cetaphil soap ( very gentle) the next day after c02 laser. They then apply an ointment (aquaphor) to cover the area. They wash their face every 3 hours and reapply the ointment however,  I have never performed laser treatment on the back region so you must ask your doctor.
