doctors can you tell me how often should i wear my glasses for short sightedness?

When you need them: You wear glasses as much or as little as you need them in order to see better.  Some people wear them all of the time; others, when they have no alternative.

i wear daily contacts most days but wear glasses once in a while. when i wear my glasses though my eyes become red and burn. why is that?

Dry Eye Syndrome: If you wear contacts they act as a moist sponge to retain water and keep your eye lubricated.  When your contacts are out your eyes are succeptible to the drying effects of the air.  Since the tear film is such a critical layer for eye health, I would recommend adding a supplemental lubricating eye drop (such as Systane Balance) two or three times a day.  It is safe to use with your contacts too.

can my power increase if i wear my glasses on and off?

Power glasses: Which power are you talking about? Lifting weights or being able to jump over buildings with a single bound or what?  Please give us more information.

No: If you are blurred with new contacts, an adjustment to your prescription may be needed.  Contact your eye doctor.

when i wear my glasses, my eyes start flickering. what should i do?

Check your glasses: Do you mean that your eyes feel like they are quickly twitching back and forth, or is there a flickering of light?  The first could be related to the wrong prescription.  The second sounds more like an ocular migraine.  Both can be set off by straining through the wrong lenses.  Either way, you should see your eye doctor for a dilated exam to evaluate your prescription and the health of your eyes.

can i wear my glasses immediately after a septoplasty with turbinate reduction surgery??

Accepted Answer

: You should first check with your surgeon who did your nasal septum surgery.
I do not see any good reason to avoid using your eye glasses as long as using the glasses doe snot cause you to have pain.

i'm mildly nearsighted (less than -1.00) and i get frequent headaches whilst studying. should i wear my glasses despite them being for distance?

Approach: You may need reading glasses, or prismatic lenses.  See eye specialist and get this addressed.  If not the answer, ask about possible tension headaches or even migraine.

i'm myopic(-3,50 each eye).if i wear my glasses, close an eye, stare a point far away and turn my head, i see worse.i see blur. is it  normal? thanks

Yes: By turning your head with your glasses on, you are changing the way the light from the image you are looking enters through your pupil. This blur is due to the spherical aberration of the glasses and partly due to your eye. The best focus comes from the rays of light entering the optical center of your spectacles and through the center of your pupil.

just had injectable rhinoplasty done 4 days ago. can i wear my glasses or will that affect the nose job?

Should be fine: I usually say its ok to wear glasses after 3 days.

for a month now i have been having pressure, no pain just pressure in my forehead, temples, nose and above my eye in the corner. the pressure is really noticeable when i wear my glasses.

Possible sinusitis: Based on your symptoms , your pain in &amp; around the eye could be related to sinusitis. I would recommend an evaluation with your primary care physician.
