Posture: Sounds like a scalpulo-thoracic problem caused by posture. Try sitting in a chair with feet elevated about 8 inches from a floor, resting on a block. Lumbar spine supported with bolster so that your back is straight, not slouched or curved forward ‘over’ a desk. raising the desk or lowering the chair can help this. It isn't: All benzodiazepines can help muscle relaxation. Valium is used often because of long half-life so less rebound adverse effects.

Get checked again. : It appears your pain is in the muscle, &amp; I would agree with the muscle relaxant medication. But the fact that "still nothing works" means you should get checked again: for better pain relief &amp; for the small possibility that something else is the cause. Otherwise, without your feedback, your doctor can only think that the initial therapy worked. Hope that helps.

Doctor can examine: One who makes repeated noises, rolls his eyes, twitches his face, or tightens or jerks his neck muscles may have tics, which are exaggerated habits. Of course, he might have allergies or throat irritation that "encourage" tics to continue because irritation makes him sense there is neck or throat discomfort. "Reminders" worsen tics. One's primary care doctor can evaluate to diagnose and help.

Probably not: Norgesic is like many other "muscle relaxants". The main ingredient is an antihistamine which can definitely cause drowsiness. I would not advise people to take this medication and then get behind the wheel.
