Sleep deprivation: Most babies sleep a consistent number of hours per day. It's a matter of when they sleep. If you'd like your baby to fall asleep earlier in the evening, keep him/her awake for a longer time during the day, perhaps skipping an afternoon nap. This should tire out the baby so he/she falls asleep more easily that night. Once you've 'reset' his/her internal clock this way, it usually stays on schedule.

Could be: If you are breastfeeding then drinking tea or any drink with caffeine can cause problems with the baby's sleep. This occurs most often in babies under 6 months. Try drinking the tea earlier in the day or just skipping it and see if this helps.

When baby is drowsy,  but awake, put her to bed in her own room to learn to self-calm to sleep without bottle or pacifier before 5 mos. to prevent bedtime behavioral problems at 6 mos. &amp; &gt;.
