i received juvederm 8 months ago 1 syringe and belotero in tear trough. i've had burning under orbital area w/ some edema. is the nerve regenerating?

Fillers : this may be a local reaction to the filler. Have your surgeon evaluate it and if it continues to be a problem, consider removing the product.

had juvederm 1 syringe in apple of cheeks 3 months ago.  left side near infra orbital area is some burning, gnawing little edema. will this resolve??

Prob not related: It's hard to imagine how this is related to Juvederm 3 months later. Perhaps a small nerve was affected. If that's the case, it may resolve over 6-12 months. I hope this helps.

i had juvederm 1 syringe in apple of cheek 4mo's ago. had ipl one month ago. burning/gnawing sensations last 3mo's but has increased. is nerve dying?

Uncertain: I see the procedure was reversed so I guess there was something wrong. It could be the nerve was injured or compressed Neurontin (gabapentin) may help its healing. It should heal in time but I would speak to a neurologist and explain everything that occurred including what the filler is and where it is deposited.

is it safe to reuse a partial syringe of juvederm for touch-ups after initial treatment? the doctor i talked with said that he can save any juvederm left in the syringe in case i need touch-ups in a few weeks. is that safe?

I : I agree with dr grossman.

Once i asked a company rep about a similar product.  The answer was > "it can be saved for about two weeks, if it is for the same patient".

But, i don't feel comfortable > saving and re-using.

i had filler for my marionette lines for the first time a week ago. the dermotologist used one syringe1/2 on each side. i dont see much difference or improvement. does it take longer and should it look better with time. i spent $800?

: depends on how/why used and the technique of the injector.  sounds like you see some improvement. usually see something rather promplty but there is some changes over time for some fillers (that absorb some water) depending on the types of fillers and where used there can be varied effects.  talk w your provider if unhappy w results

Absolutely: You are injecting hyaluronic acid with additives into the skin which can cause both an allergic dermatitis as well as an irritant dermatitis.

Pumping Device: A syringe is a simple pump consisting of a plunger that can be pulled and pushed along inside a cylindrical tube allowing the syringe to take in and expel a liquid or gas through an orifice at the open end of the tube. The open end of the syringe may be fitted with a needle for medical or dental use.

Look at the insert: Most Insulin syringe manufacturers discourage the practice of keeping Insulin for a prolonged period of time in the syringes specially with long acting analogs like lantus (insulin glargine).  I do tell my patients that it is ok for short acting insulins to be preloaded in a syringe if you are going out to eat but no longer than 2-3 hrs.

is belotero and juvederm interchangeable?

Slight Diferences: Belotero and juvederm are similar products by different companies.  Both are hyaluronic acids, a normal human substance.
Belotero does not come with local anesthetic and is often used more superficially than juvederm.
Juvederm has different amounts of cross-linking which can make it last longer.  More cross-linking is felt to make the products more durable and longer lasting.

aquamid and juvederm, which one is better?

Juvederm : Only juvederm is fda approved and legal in the us. Aquamid has gone through clinical trials but has not been approved for any use in the us.   Aquamid may provide long-term or permanent correction as opposed to juvederm, which lasts only several months. However, any physician who offers to inject aquamid (as of today, 9/29/13) is violating federal law- beware!
