You've made the right choice. Your body self-cleanses, and it seems as if you've chosen to clear your mind as well. Learn from your past, and focus on the present and future.

Greatly varies: The length of stay at a psychiatric hospital can be dependent upon multiple things including laws in your state severity of the illness and also insurance coverage.

Hard to know: The basic answer is we don't know for sure. The sad thing is the egg quality may be influenced by alcohol or drugs, or ever koolaid you drink. The eggs sit there forming under these influences. Whether or not these factors alter the genes in small ways has been speculated but no clear data  exists. I wonder whether the autism &amp; other issues can arise from these influences.

how fast is too fast for a heart rate while exercising for someone with tachycardia? assuming non-smoker and no alcohol or drugs and otherwise healthy female in late teens to early twenties. tachycardia started a week ago with no identified cause.

Many reasons 4 tach: There are many reasons for tachycardia and you should be seen by a good electro physiologist and cardiologist to work it out. Different causes have different treatments. Cannot go into all of this in 400 spaces.

48 to 72 hours: The operson may show severe withdrawal symptoms within 48 hours to 72 hours.  These may include severe shaking and even seizures, which could cause life threatening problems.  I would not advise abrupt discontinuation of alcohol.  Please have this person see a physician for proper treatment.

Hepatotoxic : Hydrocodone preparations are compounded with Acetaminophen  which is toxic to the liver in high doses. Alcohol is also toxic to the liver. A combination as you described puts you at high risk of liver damage and possibly  liver failure and death. Unless you are a politician, famous athlete or musician, the chance of obtaining a liver transplant  would be about nill. Stop both now...

my sister committed suicide from a drug/alcohol overdose. i know it depends on the drug(s) & amount of alcohol. would this been a painful death?

For obvious reasons: We don't wish to opine on means of suicide in a public forum. This question would best be asked of the coroner who consulted, or your own personal physician. Every suicide is painful, if not for the victim, then to varying degrees by the survivors. Best wishes.

Depends...: Dying of acute alcohol poisoning, as in the case of a youngster playing drinking games, is probably painless but is a terrible waste. Dying of the long-term effects of alcoholism involves either serious brain damage or the nausea, itching, and disfigurement of liver failure. Those who die of alcohol hurt others in the process and after. Thanks for choosing to use it wisely or not at all.

Teen: Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, long qt syndrome, congenital coronary artery abnormality, other arrhythmic or structural anomalies and infectious or congenital heart diseases can cause death in teens.
