Accepted Answer

Jolivette-proper use: Jolivette is a mini pill of progestin only (other pills are a combination of estrogen/progesterone)  It cannot be used as a morning after pill.  The pill must be taken over an entire 28 days to be protective against pregnancy.

Absolutely not: If you truly had your menses a few hours after having sex, there is no plausible way you're pregnant from that. That said, u could certainly be pregnant from other sex a couple weeks before that.

: All women with new, unexplained, or abnormal vaginal discharge or bleeding should be professionally examined, and apparently she has both of these. There are several possible causes, including pregnancy and infection, including STDs. (At your age and depending on your sexual lifestyle and risks, STD may be especially likely.) Your partner needs to see a doctor or clinic soon. Good luck.

Emergency contracept: There are three products on the market approved by the fda as emergency contraceptives:  Plan B one-step®, next choice® and ella®. All emergency contraceptives are more effective the earlier they are used and should be taken as soon as possible after unprotected intercourse, within 72 hours. The first 2 are available otc by those age 15 and over  and by prescription for those under 17.

After missing period: A urine pregnancy test done correctly will give a reliable result 3 weeks after sex (or when conception might have happened) or 1 week after missing a period. If done sooner, a positive result is likely real, but a negative result may be due to testing too soon, and therefore lead to a repeat test. If a woman has her normal regular period, then she is not pregnant, and the test is not needed yet.
