Lice infestation: Alcohol may help loosen the lice and hte nits sometimes, but hte easiest way to do that is apply petroleum jelly and cover it up with a shower capand leave iton for 12-18 hours and then have funn washing it off! even though it is time consuming to wash it off, it is  a safe and non toxic way to loosen the lice nad nits.The petroleum jelly suffocates the lice.

Ulesfia: It's the latest, and probably the best, prescription medication for killing lice and eggs.  But you must follow the directions to the letter.

See you doctor: If you have not already done so, you should be seeing your doctor.  Often when lice infestation is severe, multiple treatments must be employed simultaneously.  These include prescription creams/lotions, pills and a nit comb.  See your doctor.

Long time: I don't think rubbing alcohol is strong enough to kill lice. If you had short hair and carefully removed all the lice and nits it might work. But i would recommend a prescription lice product (and removal of all nits). Best to treat again in 8 or 9 days to be sure.

Not for sure: Combing alone e it help but dose not for sure clean it up, use the recommended shampoo, for the whole family, clean all the bed sheets sand if you have bets also do it for them.

Vinegar may help: Vinegar has been cited as a natural rx for head lice when applied to dry hair & massaged through it daily for a week. It does loosen the nits (egg casings) which should be combed out to prevent re-infection. Pickling vinegar or apple cider vinegar may work a bit faster than regular & you can always fall back on the otc products if this fails.

No evidence: Tea tree oil has been used to treat acne, toe nail fungus, fungal infections on the feet, and dandruff with some effectiveness, but does seem to have some hormonal effects (therefore should not be used by pregnant women).  However, i know of no evidence of tea tree oil treating scabies, body lice, or bo.  I am open to anyone who has additional information.

Hygiene: There is always a chance that you will get lice if you are in the dorm, probably the best prevention is good personal hygiene and shampoo often.

Arrange for the rest of the kids to be screened as soon as possible by someone who knows what to look for. Send home all pillows, sleeping pads, etc. To be laundered. Ask all parents to inspect their kids' heads daily for any signs of nits for the next couple of weeks.
